Data Impact of Moving User Accounts

In Ed, the HMH Learning Platform, the data impact of moving a user account from class to class or from school to school varies, depending on the role of the user account (teacher or student). Details are provided below.

Student

The student gains access to the resources of the new class/grade and receives any new assignments that the teacher assigns to class. (Existing class assignments that the teacher assigned prior to the student moving into the class are not assigned the student. To add the student to an existing assignment, see Edit Assignments.)

The student continues to have access to all completed and in progress assignments, including notes, annotations, and bookmarks from the previous class/grade.

The student no longer has access to any not started assignments from the previous class/grade.

The teacher of the student's previously assigned class can no longer view any of the student's data in the Ed Reports section.

The teacher of the student's newly assigned class can view the growth assessment data in the Ed Reports section, but cannot view the completed assessment data from the student's previous class.

Teacher

The teacher no longer has access to any of the previous class's assignments.

The teacher has access to all of the new class's assignments, including those that are incomplete (in progress or not started) and completed.

If no teacher is assigned to the new class, the students can continue to access assignments.

The teacher's saved lessons, custom assessments, and custom items are moved with the teacher's account.
