Roster District Administrator: Set Up Roster - Other

 

●      What does "clear your site" mean?

"Clear your site" simply means marking the account as inactive. In ThinkCentral and Holt McDougal Online and in Ed and Heinemann, we will deactivate and clear all the Personal Identifiable data (PII) from existance. If you re-import a user with the same LASID and username, that account is reactivated. If the reactivated user is in the same class, all historical data are still tied to the user, but any "in progress" or "not started" data are removed. If this is part of a new school year, it is unlikely that "in progress" data is applicable.

 

●      How can I export historical data before deactivating?

You only need to export data if previous (historical) data is required. In most cases, assignments from previous years are not required in a new school year.

Exporting previous data takes place within the platform that was used. Links to each platform's export instructions are provided below.

–      Holt McDougal Online:

●      What about administrator data?

At this time, we do not import administrator data. Any removal or maintenance of these accounts must be done manually using the platform pages.

Due to the high level of secure information to which administrator accounts have access, you should verify that each existing district and school administrator account represents a user who is currently employed and that each account has accurate contact information and the correct user role.

 

To continue rostering:

 

1.    Select Other. The fields on the page change to accommodate your selection.

 

2.    In the Select Platform list, select your platform (ThinkCentral or Holt McDougal).

 

3.    Prepare your files for import; see instructions for the rostering platform/type you wish to use:

 

–      ThinkCentral: Prepare and Import Using ThinkCentral

 

–      Holt McDougal Online: Prepare and Import Using HMO

 

–      Manual Account Creation:  

○      ThinkCentral – Add User Accounts

○      Holt McDougal Online – Add Student Accounts and Add Teacher Accounts

–      To populate the organization field (School PID field for ThinkCentral and the School field for HMO), see Locate MDR PIDs.

 

–      LMS: The best solution for LMS users is to use OneRoster API or OneRoster CSV for both the LMS and HMH products.

 

4.    When your file is prepared, click Upload File and then click Submit. The file uploads to our system.
