Interventions are supplementary work that provide the students additional practice to catch up or enhance mastery.
There are three types of interventions.
Intervention |
Description |
Daily |
Personalized warm-up for students prior to the assignment and follow-up enrichment for students who demonstrate mastery. |
Standards-Based |
Extra assignments that measure student proficiency in academic skills by state standards. |
Course |
Extra assignments before and after tests that are included as part of the HMH textbook product. |
Interventions include three key components:
– A pretest, assigned by the teacher
– Tutorial activities to address weaknesses identified by the pretest (Enrichment may be available if no weaknesses are identified.)
– A post-test to reassess mastery
– If Auto-Assignment is set to On in Preferences, interventions will be automatically assigned at the selected interval from the test.
– If Auto-Assignment is set to Off in Preferences, the teacher will assign interventions.
